Just watched Fistful of Dollars and decided I might as well practice faces and photoshop painting simultaneously. So here’s a simple black and white of Clint from The Good the Bad and the Ugly.

process:
#1. So many problems with this one I threw it out and restarted but it was good just to get something up and see what I should focus on

#2. Had to square the jaw some more, move the eyes and fix the nose after this one

And here’s the reference image I used:

There’s still a few issues but I’ll live, this was just a fun exercise.

1HDC, gestural interfaces

Here’s my entry into the Core77 1HDC: gestural interfaces. The idea is to have remotes that respond to hand movements in order to control heavy machinery from afar, one operator could conduct the actions of multiple machines to have them work in tandem without any risk of danger. Yes, I kind of just wanted to draw a heavy machinery robot.

once again, it’s been a while and this time I’ve only got two little pages worth showing. Alex’s robot thread and my nephew combined to inspire this idea for an alphabet book called “Alphabots.” Each robot is a letter and is acting out an adjective that starts with their letter and that they’re designed to carry out.

Any bright ideas on a child-appropriate action that starts with E?

soooo maybe it’s been far more than a week but I’ve collected more sketches than the previous ones, hopefully I’ll be better about getting some more sketches in this week.

The idea is it’s a land sailor for Mars (because the winds there are craaazzyyyyy) and the sail would double as a solar panel for when the air is calm.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Slanderous words?

look at the crazy awesome interface for this rhino plugin, grasshopper:

Not to mention the awesome thing that guy just did relatively quickly and the fact that Rhino is now parametric, meaning you can edit old curves and such so it will update surfaces (which from what I can tell is one of the only things keeping it from being as highly regarded as Alias). Anyone up for teaching ourselves rhino next quarter?
